Opening a forwarded message

When I receive a message that has a forwarded message contained in it, I try
to open it by double-clicking on it (the way I have done it for many years)
but nothing happens. It won't open, even if I right-click and select the
"open" option.
 
Do you have Google Desktop SEarch installed? If yes, try removing it and then try again to open the message attachments.
