Opening a file in another application

Hey there.

I hope someone will be able to help me. I need to be able to open a picture
file from access to edit it. how can i specify what program needs to be used
for the editting? any ideas?

You can shell out to the other program to open it:

Shell("Path to file",vbNormalFocus)

or use the ShellExecute api:

If you want to choose the program you want to run the picture, try this
simple macro

Action: RunApp
Argument: mspaint.exe "C:\Folder\FileName.gif"
