hyperlink error opening Adobe

I am trying to find out what maybe causing the problem that I am experiencing
when I use the edit hyperlink in an Access 2002 form. The hyperlink is set
to a folder on a local network.

After using the edit hyperlink tool in Access, I have been able to open the
link in Windows Explorer and the link looks something like this:
\\Shared\Sales\Browning/Invoices instead of \\Shared\Sales\Browning\Invoices.
Because of the change in the link address I have been unable to open any
Adobe files in that particular folder. As soon as I change / to \ I can
access the pdf document in the folder. If possible I am trying to find out
what is changing the back slash to a forward slash.

I have been able to paste the folder link into edit hyperlink and this
option works.

If you need additional information please let me know. Any advice or
guidance that you could provide would be appreciated.

Thank you,
Will

You needn't post 3 times with the same body and different subject lines.

Instead of using the hyperlink datatype, try using the text datatype with
the ShellExecute api. You'll find that in addition to being able to index
your field, it will open faster. As an added benefit, the text datatype uses
fewer bytes, even with an index, and offers a much lower chance of
corruption.

In addition, if you use FoxIt reader, you'll find a significant increase in
speed to open a document over the Acrobat reader.
