OpenGL API

I have trouble running a certain software (Mathematica).
Tech support said the problem is with OpenGL API. I have XP
SP2 on Dell. They said maybe I should install a different
driver from Intel. Shall I install driver 6.14.10.4543
instead of the newer 6.14.10.3762?

What do you suggest?

"OpenGL API that is misbehaving, and it is a problem
specific to the drivers for the graphics hardware on your
system. The OpenGL API is a standard component of your
system which Mathematica needs to use.

"In particular, this arises from a bug in Intel's OpenGL
implementation for your Intel graphics chip. This is part of
the driver installation.

"I recommend that you see if you can find a compatible,
updated driver directly from Intel's site. Failing that, the
developers believe the next best thing is to switch to a
driver provided by Microsoft. This will install a generic
OpenGL stack. However, be warned that other OpenGL apps
might stop working as well because of the lack of hardware
support."

The drivers from Windows update (I believe these are the generic drivers
the tech's letter refers to), do not include OpenGL. They just very basic
drivers that will provide display capability to your hardware.

Obtain drivers from the manufacturer of the display hardware (or from the
OEM that manufactured your computer system). These drivers include support
for any additional features of your hardware that the basic drivers don't
support and they usually include support for OpenGL as well.
