How do I repair my "open with" dialog and "open with" sub-menu? I still have
the "open with" command in the context menu but, a) there is no sub-menu
offered and, b) when i click "open with", instead of the dialog box I get
this error:

"This file does not have a program associated with it for performing this
action. Create an association in the Folder Options control panel."

WinXP SP2

You can create an application association for a particular extension by
going to (in Windows Explorer) Tools > Folder Options > File Types. Find the
corresponding extension you're having problems with. By selecting Change you
should get the standard Select Program as if you were opening an unknown
file. You could try the Advanced settings and go through that if you have an
error in there too.

Wesley, Thank you very much for the reply. The link you suggested was the
exact fix I needed.

Glad to hear it. Keep having fun. :-)
