Open Outlook Email Hyperlinks in FireFox not Internet Explorer

Hi All,

I'm looking for suggestions, tips, help regarding how best to configure
Outlook, (Or Windows more likely?) in a way so that when I click on any type
of hyperlink in an email message the link is opened up in FireFox not IE.

Bonus points if someone can tell/show me how links to certain domains/web
pages could be set to IE instead of FireFox (Since some places require IE)

I think theirs a need for a FREE:) utility to address the above
wants/needs...and so my guess is...the solution already exists somewhere.

Bye,
JV

1) make sure FireFox is set as your default browser
2) not possible. Such an application then be able to be set as the default
browser and then pass it along to another browser. Other methods to have
links/shortcuts opened in IE while FF is your default browser is to create a
shortcut with iexplore in front of the URL

Your first question was already addressed already so I'll leave that alone.

One of the good things about Firefox is that it comes as a standalone, basic
web browser. if you want more bells and whistles, you can add them yourself.
There are so many other "extensions" that you can add if you want. One
extension, does something similar to what you are looking for, and that is,
allow Firefox to open a link in IE.

https://addons.update.mozilla.org/e...thunderbird&version=1.0&os=all&numpg=10&id=81

If that link doesn't work, then try:
https://addons.update.mozilla.org/extensions/ and do a search in the upper
right hand of the screen for Launchy.

I know that's not what you were technically asking for, but I don't think
that is possible. This way will at least give you the ability to easily
change to IE should the need arise.

Set FF as the default browser and if outlook grumbles when you try to open a
link, see http://www.slipstick.com/problems/firefox.htm.

To force some to IE, make a shortcut like this:
iexplore.exe -www.cnn.com
