When I right click on a link on a webpage to 'open in new window' it never
opens 'maximized'. I always have to enlarge the window to its normal size.
Would anyone happen to know how you can right click 'open in new window' on a
link so it opens maximized?

Open the "new window" as you have, next drag the edges to the size that you
want (fullsize) with your mouse, and when you exit (first time only) DO NOT
close it with the red X in the upper right corner, instead in the upper left
corner go to "file" left click and select close. From now on when you open a
new window it should open fullsize and you will be able to close it with the
red X.

Windows remembers the size of the last Normal IE window closed.
Open such a link.
Don't use the maximize button.
Stretch the edges/corners so that the window fills the screen.
Close all other IE windows.
Close the stretched window.

If that doesn't do it try the REG file here:

Right click on the internet explorer shortcut on your desktop and open
properties. That might help you a bit.... I think it as some options such as
always open new window in ""
