Open in maximized window

May be a dumb question, but how to I get XP to open a
page in a maximized window. I tried using the
shift+close and re-open, but that doesn't work.

INTERNET EXPLORER WINDOW OPEN MAXIMIZED

Open a link.
Don't use the maximize button.
Stretch the edges/corners so that the window fills the screen.
Close all other IE windows.
Close the stretched window last.

Another option is to use IE maximizer.
