Open hyperlinks in new window (Word 2007 PDF export)

Hello,
using the PDF export addon I noticed that links are opened in the same
browser window as the PDF itself (if opened in browser).

Is there a way to force links in this PDF (exported by Word 2007) to open in
a new browser window?

Regards,
Uwe

you've received two answers to your post in the ".de" newsgroup:

You can add a \t switch with an "_blank" argument either manually to a
HYPERLINK field, or let Word do it by setting the target frame in the
Insert Hyperlink dialog.

This is, however, considered bad form. The user should be able to decide
whether s/he wants links to open in a new window or not.

I partly agree -- which doesn't mean I haven't used target="_blank" in
some of my own projects before, namely for "external" links.

Searching for it on w3.org brings up lots of discussions about this
issue (seems it's been deprecated in "strict" HTML). There are user-agents

Thank you for your answers.

The problem is that I did not find any way to let the user decide if he/she
wants to open the link in the same window or in a new one. Acrobat Reader
does not offer an option or a key-click combination to do so.

That is why I have to (want to) decide whether the link opens as new window
(external sites) or in the same.

Isnt there any other way?

Uwe

target=_blank setting.

[Sorry about the abrupt end :)]
