Open folders dissappear on reboot

New XP install. When I suhtdown/restart and then log back
in, all folders I had open on the desktop are gone, no
longer open. What is causing this? And how do I fix it?

Another system I use with XP on it does the same, but when
it restarts, it actually gives an svhost.exe error, so
basically I know something is crashing on every boot. It'd
be nice to fix THAT too, but my home system is a little
more important to have those folder remain open.

Such an odd problem.

Never mind... In all the XP installs I've seen I never saw
the default set to NOT reopen folders on restart... but I
found that it's defaulted to not do it... so I just
changed the view option in the Folder Options in Control
Panel.
How stupid.
