Open file - security warning

Hi

Suddenly, my shortcuts have all come up with the "Open file - security
warning" prompt, and "Unknown publisher" - even links to MS apps. This
has happened in the past, but I've always managed to fix the problem.
I've read lots of comments on this topic in newsgroups but none answer
my particular problem.

When I recreate the links from locally (rather than in my server
profile) the problem goes away. However, I do want to be able to run
shortcuts from the network without having to okay it every time.

I have played endlessly with the Internet security settings and have
had a good dig around in the registry
(HKLM/Software/MS/Win/CurrentVersion/Internet Settings/Zones is what MS
website suggests). No joy though, the security warning just won't go
away.

Also, similar problem means I have to log on to the internet at work,
using my XP account. This never used to happen and it's very annoying.

I'm totally convinced there's a simple registry fix (or a security
setting), but I've yet to find it.

I have tried allowing all certificates in IE security settings etc etc.
Nothing works.

Help!

Thanks
Jim

I've found the solution to the problem late last night and it turned
out to be quite a simple fix.

In IE, go Tools >> Options >> Security >> Local Intranet >> Sites, then
check the first and third boxes.

Also, the security levels for Intranet were set to high and wouldn't
let me change them to a lower setting. Not sure why this happened, but
found a registry fix:

HKLM/Software/MS/Win/CurrentVersion/Internet Settings/Zones/3 and
change MinLevel and RecommendedLevel to 10000 (hex).

Thanks for your earlier replies
