Open File - Security Warning

Let me try this again...

I have a Desktop shortcut to an executable on a network share. This is a
new PC, XP Pro. When I double-click the icon I get the "Open File -
Security Warning" message.

I Googled this and found 2 fixes. Both are security settings in IE. I
tried both: under Security>Trusted Sites, add the server name. Also, on
that same tab, under Local Intranet>Sites, make sure "include all network
paths(UNC)" are checked off. Still get the same message.

Is there anything else that can be done to get rid of this annoying message?
None of the existing PCs get that.

Thanks

Since only part of the message text is offered, I will have to guess
what the rest says.

If it is the Open File - Security Warning that asks Do you want to run
this file? it is a warning that Windows doesn't recognize the file, so
if you do recognize it and you trust it tell XP it is okay by
unchecking the box that says:

Always ask before opening this file

XP will not ask you about that particular file again (emphasis on THIS
file). It may still ask you about other files it does not recognize
and you can make appropriate choices. XP will remember your choices.

If you never want to see that message ever again for any executable
file, that can be arranged but I would not consider that a wise choice.

Oh - I see the rest now... a network share and also Googled but don't
know which you tried and cannot replicate.
