Open File Security Warning - SP3

Paul Worsnop

Hi,

I have a PC that has recently been updated to Win XP SP3.

However, when it now attempts to open files that are located on our domain
server the Open File Security Warning box appears everytime. We had turned
this off by adding our Domain Server name to the "Trusted Sites" area of IE7
when running SP2, however the upgrade to SP3 seems to have brought it back
and ignored the fact that our server is still listed as a trusted site!

Can anyone shed any light on how to solve this problem and remove the
annoying prompt?

Thanks

Paul

I don't think the trusted sites in IE7 is related to opening file on a domain
server.

With a security update from a couple of years ago [and incorporated in SP3],
you will always get the security warning on a NTFS drive [including servers].

Thanks for the assistance guys.

I have finally worked around it. I simply entered the exact share path into
the trusted sites list and all is working fine (\\Servername\ServerShare).
Its a confusing one as I entered in the path of the server previously and
this didnt work - a bug perhaps?! mmm - anyway its working now.

Thanks again

Paul
