Open Dialog Box

In the Open Dialog Box (used by Office2000 etc), the button "View Menu" has
the default setting set at "List". How can I change the default setting to
"Details" (perhaps in the registry?).
Thanx

AFAIK you can't change that. Here are some you *can* change.

Open Windows Explorer and set the right pane to details...

Click Tools
Click Options
Click View tab
Click button "Like Current Folder"

All the rest will remain the same.

I don't think it works that way. For native common open dialog boxes the
default is almost always "List" view. and AFAIK can't be changed. For
Office 2000 and possible some other applications the last setting is
remembered within the user profile. Possibly (for example) in the binary
word;
"Data"
found at;
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\11.0\Common\Open Find\Microsoft
Office Excel\Settings\Open\View
