Open a file in win2k startup (again)

I put the shortcut of my file in the startup and it's only the program who opens when i start my computer. i tried to do that under win XP and win 98 and it works. i mean the program and the file open. What i do wrong in win 2k?

I think If you want open file, when stat excel.
Open Excel
menu from excel(in excel2003) > Tools > Options > General > fill your target file location and name in "At startup, open all files
in"
then you just apply your excel short cut in windows start up.

this should work all windows.

also if you post this in Microsoft.public.excel , may be you can get better solutions...

there are a couple possibilities.
1. the file association is wrong or missing... can you double click on your
file and have it open the correct application and load your file?
2. the 'start in' directory is wrong so that the application can't find your
file.
3. the shortcut is incorrect, can you click on the shortcut after the
machine is running and get it to open the application and load your file?
an error in the target line of the shortcut could start the application but
not give it the proper filename or other flags to load your file.
