Open a corrupted File???

I have an Excel 2007 file (.xlsx) that will not open. When I could not
open it, I tried to just preview it. The error message says: "This file
cannot be previewed because it is corrupted." I also tried to print
directly from the file list, but I still get the "corrupted file" message.

When I open it with Notepad or WordPad, it is just gibberish. Is there
anything you can suggest that would repair this file so that it can be
opened or previewed?

Some people have reported success in the past by using OpenOffice to
open apparently corrupted files and then saving again as an Excel
file. Might be worth a go, as it's a free download.

Hope this helps.

Okay, we'll give that a try.
