While I hope that Ubuntu continues to do well,
I also think many people who actually install it
just play around with it. I have it installed on
a partition, I also have Solaris 10. I've tried
several flavors of Linux, too. But, I keep finding
the experiences lacking and go back to Windows.
As long as I am "addicted" to using Outlook and Office,
I'll never make Linux my main OS, and *no*, OpenOffice
nor StarOffice come close, IMO.
It's similar to having several programs installed that
are basically the same, you find a favorite and use it...
the others get ignored. Like Firefox, I use it sometimes.
Mostly, I use IE. I've even been playing around with
Gran Paradiso (Firefox 3). It's fine, and actually works
quite well for an alpha product. It's located here:
http://releases.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/releases/granparadiso/alpha3/

I did switch to Thunderbird for reading newgroups because
Windows Mail absolutely blows... I haven't looked back, either.

In your attitude towards Vista, I actually agree. Although, I do
use it most of the time, I understand your POV. There really is no
overwhelming reason to risk upgrading to Vista, unless you buy a new
computer. Even then, if a person can wait until SP1, that's what I'd
advise them to do... if they asked.

Take care,

Michael
