OO.o 1.x series not dead yet...

Curious, I thought 1.1.4 would be the final before 2.0 was released,
but no, OO.o is building a "forward compatible" 1.1.5 :)

**/
OpenOffice.org 1.1.5 Release Candidate

OpenOffice.org 1.1.5rc can be downloaded now. It includes numerous bug
fixes. Just as important, it can read OpenDocument files, which are
created by the advanced 2.0 line. To help us refine 1.1.5rc, download
it, test, and file bug reports.

Frankly, I think they're having some serious problems with OOo 2 betas.
Otherwise, the final would be out by now.

Yes, I think that I shall uninstall beta 2 and trial the 1.x rc today.

I just tried re-downloading the beta of 1.9, and noticed that the
version is OOo_1.9.113_Win32Intel_install.zip which refuses to install
on my system. It almost looks as if development of the beta is at a
standstill.

Well this prompted me to do the same. Yep I get "Internal Error 2735
Shellextensionsdll5" error message and the install balks at that point
so I too cannot install this 1.9.113 beta. Maybe it's because I'm
running Win 98se, you too? I know OO.o is "supposed" to install onto 98
but really, do their testers run 98 too?

Have installed 1.1.5rc, which went without incident btw. But wow,
having been so used to the beta 2 UI I'm quickly wanting to change
back. 1.1.5rc gives me back some unresolved lost functionality tho' so
I'm happy for that.

Of the OO.o betas, OOo_1.9.109_Win32Intel_install.zip was a good one,
I'm glad I hadn't trashed it as it may go back on before long.

Millennium Edition. Same error message. I posted a bug alert, but they
responded that it had been fixed. I redownloaded the program and tried
to install it, but nothing had changed.

Wish I'd downloaded it, but it's not a big issue with me. I can wait.

Do you have a report number?

There's a m109 archived here if you want it (Canadian mirror):
