only one browser alowed with IE6 ?

I have a problem with an XP base machine, where if I have
an IE6 ( sp1 ) window open, then eith click to open in a
new window, or open a new window with the IE icon, it
closes the current browser window , so I lose where I
was ?

any suggestions ?

Tools | Internet Options | Advanced
Uncheck the option to reuse windows when launching shortcuts.
