Only my viewer -- can't edit

I transferred my files over to a new computer and now I can't open my
powerpoint presentations to edit -- only the PP viewer is available.

Any solutions?

Did you install PowerPoint (or the Office suite)? If so, which version of
PowerPoint do you use? Open PowerPoint first, then open the file using
PowerPoint's Open command.

Thanks Ute,

It was part of Office Basic Edition 2003. I can't find the basic PP program
-- only the viewer. When I use the open command, only the viewer shows

It looks like the program wasn't installed or installed correctly. Did your
purchase come with a CD?

I do have the original disc -- should I attempt to re-install?
