Only .bmp files using "Save picture as"

using "Save Picture As" only gives me the possibility to doenload a .bmp
file. It does not recognize (for example) .jpg or .gif files.

The use of "save target as" works allright but that is not always possible.

Anyone has any idea?

Thanks in advance,

Rob

It's time to perform some routine computer maintenance:

Go to Start > Run and type: CLEANMGR.EXE , and hit enter.
This will start your disk cleanup utility. Make sure to cleanup
your Temporary Internet Files.

Do you have this problem with all web sites, or just some?

A lot of times, the web site server prevents the page and the image from
being cached locally. When that happens, MSIE is only able to save the file
as a .bmp.

I had this exact problem and was told to click on (in IE) tools | Temporary
Internet Files | Delete Files. And then GIF & JPG were again available. As
if by magic! smile Maybe I had to close IE and get back in. Can't
remember that part for sure.

This problem occurs if the Temporary Internet Files are full.

1. Start Internet Explorer
2. On the Tools menu, click Internet Options.
3. Click the General tab.
4. Under Temporary Internet files, click Delete Files.
5. When you are prompted to delete all temporary Internet files, click OK.
