I got 2 XP home machines networked together, I have set
up each machine exactly the same but I only have shared
access oneway? any clues, I run ICS and it works fine
between the 2 machines, I can also ping the machine I
cant see the files of? It says I dont have permission?

Access Denied!!!

This may sound dumb, but do you have more than one license? XP won't network
with itself.

Jonny,

Is the Guest account enabled on both computers?

Cheers,

Paranoia comes from experience - and is not necessarily a bad thing.

I have exactly the same issue. I have:-
1. Dell Inspiron 500M Laptop running XP Home and 11b wireless
2. I have a Belkin combined ADSL Modem/Wireless Router
3. Advent P4 with 11g wireless card

I have run the network set-up wizard and can access the Internet from both
machines. When I click on "Workgroup" computers I only see the local machine.
I can print from the laptop to printers connected to the desktop. I can
explore the desktop from the laptop but not the other way around. It seems as
though the network is all oneway. I can ping in both directions.

I have been looking for such a combined device but have come up short.
I can't find such a thing on the Belkin site so far. Would you mind
posting the model number?

Thank you very much.
