Only 1 PC at a time will show in workgroup

I have some folders shared, but no drives

I happen to have the same User account and password set up on both PCs. This
same account is NOT the account the one PC is demanding for access though.

Yes, SFS is off. The Guest account on both PCs is off/disabled.

And do you have the same non-Guest account, with identical password, activated
for network access on both computers? Did you select "Reconnect at logon" for
each share?

Is the same account activated for network access? What's the mysterious account
that the one computer is requesting? Are you logged in, locally, to the same
account?

The user account that is the same on both PCs is active. I can log into it
from each PC it was setup on.

The mysterious account is a user account I set up a long time ago just for
the one PC to access the other PC. I want to get rid of this requirement now,
but I cannot remember how I set it up to get rid of it.

OK, we're getting somewhere. Just because you can log in locally doesn't mean
that the account is active for network access.

Once you get the right account properly activated for network access (on each
computer as a server), log in locally (to each computer as a client). Delete
and re add the network connection, specify the desired account / password, and
select "Reconnect at logon".
