I realize Verisign is a good thing to help combat fraud. But, I
recently attempted to place an order with Zipzoomfly using my Discover
card. After submitted my online order Discover immediately approves
the order and deducts my "available credit" by the amount of purchase.
Two days later, I get an email from Zipzoomfly saying that my address
doesn't match my financial institution's records or that credit is not
approved. After calling Discover, I find out that "Verisign" is
rejecting good credit cards for various reasons. I've used my
Discover Card account # for over 12 years without any problems...until
now! Anyone else not able to make online purchases that involve
Verisign?

Couldn't the bank or CC company fix the mismatch between the on file address
and actual address. It doesn't sound like that much of a problem.
But, mismatched addresses is one of the big reasons(and a good one) credit
cards get turned down. It's usually posted on the order page.

Discover had the same address as the shipping address that I entered
at Zipzoomfly. I ended up canceling the order. I asked Zipzoomfly if
they could pre-approve my CC without placing an order and they can
not. I know my card works fine because I charged gasoline with it
today.

Yes. But watch out for the double, triple, and more billing that
these creeps will pull on you. They will reject your credit card,
and then when your credit card bill comes in, the charge will
be on it ... but you never got your order because the card
was rejected. PayPal and several others do this all the time,
and the only way you can get this straightened out is to
PAY THEM to straighten it out. In the meantime, if you are
not careful what you say to them, they will simply re-submit
the order, and do EXACTLY the same thing again ... no
merchandise ... bill your credit card. I actually got one of
those companies in a conference call with VISA ... and the
stupid moron kept speiling me the company line that, "We
do not bill the Credit Card if the order is not approved."
Finally, the lady at VISA called him an "unprofessional
con-man", and cancelled the 3 charges that company
had sent to them. I called the vendor of the product I
was trying to buy, and warned them that I was sending
a report of this scam to the State Attorney General's
office of the state where they were located. They did
not like that, because Attorney Generals take this
very seriously, and follow up on it for years. Verisign
and PayPal can ruin a companys business with they
way they treat their customers !!! I won't do business
with a company that tries to make me use their services.
