Online UPS Labels

Does anyone here use UPS or fedex online to ship packages?

I have a client that has a small home based mail order business she ships a
few packages a day by going to the UPS store and doing everything there.

I showed her UPS online and it shows doing everything online including
printing a label. the web site doesn't address using anything but a full
sheet or maybe their own UPS label printer.

Can you use any off the shelf printers. I don't think the ones from dynamo
like this would work because they aren't wide enough.

Something like this should work

but I can't find any reference to use these.

Can't speak to UPS/Fedex but USPS lets you print labels on plain old
paper (or appropriately sized gummed labels). You can glue the paper to
the box or use a (free) gummed transparent plastic envelope to hold the
label. Hard to imagine UPS/Fedex would require a separate printer.

If in doubt, print one label on whatever printer your client has and see
what happens.

Not personally, but I've worked with places that do. Fedex provided
letter-sized sheets with peel-off labels. Those were free, but that
might depend on how much business you do with them.

They printed fine on generic lasers, didn't try inkjet. All their web
software really does is generate a picture in a browser, so you should
be able to print it with anything. They might not like non-waterproof
ink, or might not care.

For Fedex, the sheets are full size but the label is smaller, about 4x6
AFAIR.

For such low usage, you can avoid specialized printers and having to
deal with them.

When I receive things, the "labels" are printed on plain paper,
appropriately folded or trimmed, and applied in a stick on shipping label
bag.

Just about any off the shelf printer will work. We would just fill in the
form online and print the shipping label on our laser printer, but an inkjet
would work just as well. We had a clear plastic flat bag, half the size of
a sheet of paper that was peel and stick. We folded the full sheet in half,
put it in the plastic bag and stuck it to the box. I think FedEx supplied
the clear plastic bags for us.

Thanks for the replies.

I did a little more digging. You can either print a full size label or use
one of their thermal label printers. Probably the same as what I was
referring to but not exactly the same.

For what she is doing, the pouch is probably what will work the best.
