I am running WinXP Prof via Netgear WGT624 router & Motorola Modem SB4200 and of late, have to restart both modem, router & computer as I continually drop off IE7. My system is Pentium 4 3GHz, 1M RAM, Gigabyte M'board and twin SATA 200G HDD. This frustrates me no end . My ISP tells me the Modem is operating OK, how can I tell if the router or Computer is causing the problem. Can ANYONE out there offer solution.? So annoying to find I cannot go online at least a dozen times a day without having to restart everything. I have run the diagnostics fix offered by MS which checks connectivity and sometimes it fixes everything and sometimes says we have detected a problem with your modem/router.
