Online banking

I'm not sure why, but when I do my banking online, I can get to everything
but where I need to pay bills. As soon as I click on the tab for 'Bill
Payments' it just stops working. It just lags until I give up and go to the
laptop that has XP. The banking site is listed as safe, so I'm assuming that
there must be another setting that I have to change. Does anyone have an
idea what I should try?

Hi Shirley,

Your financial institution may not yet support all the changes in IE7. Check
with them to see when this change might occur. If they do fully support it,
then they should be able to guide you to the necessary configuration to
access the BillPay service.

I see you're using Vista RC1 which has a problem with secure websites.
RC2 fixed that problem and online banking seems to work again.

I checked to see if Microsoft will let you upgrade IE7 on Vista, but
they page does not offer that choice.

Thanks for your reply, Bill
Yes, I am using RC1 and I guess there's no way I can get RC2 now, is there?
It's frustrating, but I can use my laptop for banking as it has XP on it.
Another thing I'm finding is that the darn thing is so much slower than when
I had XP on here. I guess it's the Internet Explorer causing the problem.
Hope I find an answer soon.
Thanks, again :)

Have you checked Use SSL 2.0 in Internet options? This helped with my
on-line banking issues.

There is, but it may not be safe.

Just remember that it's beta software and you shouldn't really be
doing anything critical with it.

I found RC2 is much faster...it seems like RC1 version was pausing on
everything, even simple pages like Google.

That fixes the problem with RC2, but not RC1.

Or at least it didn't help my setup.

Worked for me on both RC1 & 2. Maybe your bank uses a different type of
security setting.

Hi Bill,
Yes that's what it's doing...pausing all the time, the goofy thing ;) needs

I think the problem was RC1 was not compatible with all the security
protocols and some banks worked, while some did not. RC2 apparently
fixed that.
