after a reinstall ?

David - LiveOneCare only backs up files/data - it is not a complete computer
backup utility. Will resore files but not the computer itself.

You do not specify the Vista version - Vista Complete PC Backup is included
with the Ultimate version.

Yes I have home ultimate. Basically I am looking a good solution to backup
my documents, email and photos. If I get a new pc or my hard drive dies I
want to be able to rely on the backups. A full system backup is not
essential. Is oneCare the best route do you think ?

No, OneCare is not the best application for anything. It's antivirus
function is abysmal and it won't back up your data the way you want. For
your restoration needs, I recommend Acronis True Image in conjunction
with an external hard drive. You can image your system at any point in
time and then easily restore that image. True Image also does
incremental backups of just data. I like to occasionally burn my data to
DVD-R in addition to having backups on an external hard drive.

Recommended antiviruses are NOD32, Kaspersky, and Avast (free).

Have a look at Syncbackup SE - www.2brightsparks.com. I use it to
make automatic backup and I think it works great. (Yes like all good
things it costs money)
