One XP image for ACPI (non-HT) & hyper threading PCs?

We have one single Windows XP SP2 image created on an ACPI uniprocessor HAL
that we use for XP deployments.

Our supplier is no going to ship us new PCs with HT enabled CPUs.

We have done a small test on a HT machine (HT disabled in BIOS). It booted
up but it only showed one processor in Task Manager.

Should we create a separate image for HT machines?
Does anyone know if MS supports ACPI uniprocessor HAL on a HT CPU?

Any thougths or recommendations?

If HT is disabled in the BIOS, Task Manager is only
going to show just one processor. This is normal.
When you go back and enable HT in the BIOS, then
Task Manager will automatically report two processors.

When you turn off the feature that causes more than one processor to appear
in task manager, then how many processors did you expect to see?
