One-way syncing from a public calendar

Is there an easy way to automatically sync a particular
public calendar to my personal one? I want the sync to be
one-way, so that all my other personal appointments are
not put on the public calendar. I can do this manually by
each appointment on the public calendar one at a time, and
clicking a certain button that copies it to my personal.
This is tedious and error prone to do en masse tho -jim
