One user cannot open shared databases

We have several databases that are shared amongst multiple users. The
databases were created in Office97 and converted up to 2003 format for use in
Office 2007. Each of the PCs had 97 uninstalled and 2007 installed. No
defaults have been changed on any of the PCs.

While other users can open the databases at the same time, one user cannot.
When clicking the shortcut, the hourglass comes up for several seconds and
then nothing. No Access launch, no error message. If I launch Access and
try to open the database, same thing - it doesn't open the database and no
error message.

I have insured that the user's defaults are to open in Shared mode. The
user is in the same security groups as the other users, therefore rights
would be the same to the directories. When other users open the file, an ldb
is being created. We are on a Novell network, and i have uninstalled and
reinstalled the client to make sure all settings are at default. I have also
tried setting File Caching to Off, and File Commit to On, but it made no
difference.

Any ideas?

Check these
User rights to the system, directory, file
Script files on his personality
I almost always find when one can and one can't it is A. security related or
B. installed options didn't install the same as other. Also compare
references as startup options for Access can look for references that are
missing. Pete D.
