Can't open one of my databases

I have several databases, one of them no longer opens, although the database
still appears in the listing. I had been working with that one, trying
various ways to export a Report to WordPro. I had first sent copies of the
reports, using file export, to My Documents and then to Word Pro. When the
export didn't work, or, I did not like the result, I deleted, first the
result in WordPro and then in the My Documents folder. Each time I went back
to the original database and tried a new export. One time too many I guess
because I could no longer open the database. I also could not delete one of
my exports and got a message indicating something about the deletion did not
work because another program or another user was using that file. There is no
other user. What can I do?

If you mean the listing of recently used files under the top line "File"
menu, it may mean the file has been moved, renamed or deleted. That list is
just a list of recently used files along with a hidden map to were they were
opened. If you delete a file, it does not come off the list.

Sorry I don't have any additional suggestions.

The file is really there. Would anything be gained by reinstalling Access or
by moving it to another folder?

Have you tried opening it up by double clicking on the file with Access
not running? If so does it work and if not exactly how does it not work
(error messages?)
