One day of Inbox messages deleted everyday

My Outlook 2003 only allows me to keep seven days of messages in my Inbox.
My autoarchive has been off for three weeks. I have configured both the
general Autoarchive via the Tools>Options>Other>Autoarchive function and the
Inbox Autoarchive via Properties>Other to not archive at all (top box is
checked). The messages for the oldest day in my Inbox continue to disappear
each day. Same thing is happening in my Deleted mail folder but it is NOT
happening in my Sent mail folder, nor to any of my other folders that I know
of.

If you have the top box checked you have Autoarchive turned ON.

The top box of the Inbox AutoArchive IS checked ("Do not autoarchive in this
folder"). The box for the Tools>Options>Other>Autoarchive window is NOT
checked ("Run AutoArchive every ___ days"). AutoArchive is not the problem,
at least not according to these two settings.

What View are you in? Maybe you are Grouped by date and the Date groups are
minimised? Try ungrouping View | Arrange By.. and untick Show in Groups.

I found the "View" box yesterday when I was again poking around in Properties
for my Inbox and Delete box folders. It was set on "Normal," just like all
the other folders. Funny thing was, though, none of the other folders have a
drop down option of "Last Seven Days" the way that my Inbox and Delete box
folders do, even in folders that have more than seven days of messages. What
I can surmise at this point is that Outlook is thinking that I have selected
"Last Seven Days" as the view for my Delete and Inbox folders, even though
this selection has never been turned on. "Normal" view has always been
selected. Perhaps my Outlook isn't working properly regarding this feature.
I know I haven't lost my messages in either folder, however. The number of
messages indicated for each folder is far more than what is in them. They're
just not being displayed to me.

Solved. My IT expert helped me find the problem. Instead of just going to
the Properties box to check on the view options, I went finally to
View>Arrange by>Current View and saw that Last 7 Days was selected. Simple -
thanks for your help.
