One CD Drive -- Need as a Burner also

M

Mike

Roxio CD Creator v6 installed on system. Everything seems
to be in working order until it comes time to burn/write
to a blank CD. I can drag the files to the CD window
section, but when I am ready to create/burn the CD it
won't do anything.

I have tried several times to reinstall, connect the
drivers, but nothing works.

Main question is:
How do I switch connections between the CD (reader) to a
CD burner (to copy files to).

Please advise.

Can you see the CD burner in Windows Explorer/My
Computer? It should show up as CD-RW or something
similar. If you just installed the drive check that you
set the jumper correctly (either master or slave as the
case may be, or cable select if applicable). Is the cable
connected properly (pin 1 at the side of the power supply
on the drive). However if the drive works fine as a
reader it won't be the jumper. You could try downloading
Nero, which is technically a better product than Roxio:
www.nero.com - free trial available. If that works, its
probably Roxio (won't be the first time). If it does not
work, it's probably the drive or the way you set it up
(if that, include more info on the hardware setup to
enable better response).
