On Screen Volume Meter

My on screen volume meter no longer appears when i increase, decrease or mute
my volume. I've gone to Dell QuickSet and it is not disabled. So how do I
fix my problem?

Tyler,

Right click on your system tray, select properties, click the
notification area tab and make sure that volume is checked.

That's something specific to your model of computer. You might try Dell tech
support or any Dell support groups that might exist.
This is not a Vista issue.

You might want to try installing Microsoft Intellitype. It works with my
super-generic wireless keyboard, and it works a thousand times better than
the provided software. You can find it at http://www.microsoft.com/hardware,
click downloads, and just choose the Internet keyboard. During the setup
process, choose a keyboard that has keys that match what yours have. If it
has more buttons, the computer will just think that you never use them!
