On screen keyboard problem

V

Vickie

I had to use the on screen keyboard when my regular
keyboard quit. Now I have replaced the keyboard but I
can't get the onscreen keyboard to not come up during
start up and the new keyboard won't work. Any
suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

Try using System Restore to take you back to a time prior to when this issue
began. Start\All Programs\Accessories\System Tools\System Restore.

Log on. Then try pressing Windows key + U to bring up the Utility Manager.
Click on the line item for on-screen keyboard. Click the Stop button.
Uncheck all "start automatically boxes." Click OK.

Well, now, there's the right answer, I just took the easy way out!:)

:) They may still need to use System Restore since their peripheral
keyboard isn't working. I didn't address that part because the way the post
read, it sounded to me like the OP thinks OSK is blocking that hardware. If
the keyboard is still not working for them after disabling OSK,
reinstalling drivers or System Restore would be good things to try.
