Using xp home and must be.............. god knows. Now when I power on the
pc, it give me the safe mode menu and
1) when I choose safe mode, it will load the drivers and last line
(.....system32
\drivers\mup.sys) and just hang there.
2) When I choose LKGC, the xp logo will appear and with the indicator going
left to right, then the whole page gone black (monitor still stays green)

When I try to boot up by using the F8 key,
3) choose safe mode then hit the xp and it will also load the drivers and
stop at the
same line (..system32\drivers\mup.sys) .
4) choose LKGC, its the same as in (3)

Any idea whats wrong and help....help. many thanks

Mine is a Pbell pc and thus the xp home think its a retail version SP1 and
with the cd key at the side of the box, now can I use the xp home OEM version
SP2 to repair the my xp if I can get hold of a copy? Also does it make any
difference whether its SP1 against SP2. Any advice?

Try to repair the xp home but because there is no Repair function after
pressing F8, I exit, F3 twice. Now, when I on the pc, it will give the safe
mode menu and if I choose LKGC as in (2) in my opening post, the xp logo will
come out with the indicator moving left to right but the computer will keep
retarting itself without loading xp. Any idea if there is any inference from
these constant rebooting? Thanks
