On loading says windows cannot find "copy" file

When I switch on pc & load XP I get this error messgae -
unable to locate "copy" file when i hit return it lets me
load XP but dont know if there is something missing - can
somene please advise me?

Also unable to open up certain web pages - says internet
exploer has abrted this operation, had no problem opneing
these pages in win 95 but cannot view them in XP!!

Dont know if the 2 are connected.
