Omega drivers lives for yet another day

Stopped by Omegas site today and low and behold hes up and running and
releasing new drivers for ATI and Nvidia.

ATI drivers based on CAT 5.2 are available now, with 2 more releases
within a week.

I see he also has 2 banners on his site, SO USE THEM, one goes to
Microsoft and the other to NCIX. He needs the clicks to support his work.

Thanks to everybody who has supported him financially in the past, now
and in the future.

I mean why get a $500 video card if you have to use those crappy generic
drivers on it?
Sending omega a few bucks, clicking on his banners and using his drivers
enables your card to run at top speed, and keeps his family fed.

I agree, having read about the Omega drivers unlocking the 9500np cards i
bought a Saphire one and they did the job perfectly. Only drivers to use if
you are using ATI graphics cards. I'm know using a 6800GT and no longer use
the Omega Nvidia drivers, however have rebuilt my old sytem, unlocked Barton
2500 on NF7-S with onboard sound and a softmodded 9500. 1gb crucial ram. Not
bad for a backup system. And Ati is a much better 2d piture quality.

Look! There is nothing wrong with using Omega drivers but don't try
and con us into thinking they make your games run faster. Omega
himself says they are tweaked for image quality and not speed so cut
the BS.

How about this.. I use the Omegas for their built in soft-mod for the
9500 and 9800 (non-pro) cards. They DEFINATELY make my cards runs
substantially faster than using the standard CATs.

All my games run faster using Omega Drivers.

That's because you are overclcocking them. You can overclock them
without using the Omega drivers, there are other utilites that will do
the same thing. I'm talking a standard driver install v a standard
Omega install.

He's not overclocking, he's unlocking pipelines. This is exceptionally
effective with the 9500, which uses the same chip as the 9700, and if one
is lucky can give full 9700 performance.

I told my friend about Omegas and how he could get his
9500pro faster by using the softmod option. But he wasn't
too excited about the idea because of some ridiculous fear
that his Radeon would overheat and get damaged... *sigh* :)

Oh, right - the 9500 softmod. I guess if you own *that* specific card
then the Omega drivers can make your card faster but you can also do
that with a bios mod too. My original comment sitll stands though. The
Omega drivers in general do not give you higher FPS, they give better
image quality. Ask Omega himself if you don't believe me.
