Olympus c-300 ZOOM

I hace an Olympus c-300 ZOOM camera and am having
problems connecting this device via USB, because Windows
XP does not seem able to recognise the device. It
comnects, but then Device Manager shows it as "Unknown
Device" and says there are no drivers for the device. If
you try to update the driver software, though, it tells
you there is no update.

The Olympus US site says that this is a common problem
and you need to install the Windows 2000 driver before XP
will recognise the device. I have now done that, and
Windows XP still odes not recognise the device AAARGH!
Any suggestions?

Download the win 2000 driver to a folder on your desktop. Right click on "My Computer" go to the "hardware" radio tab on top...click device manager...scroll down untill you see the "unknown device" or a device with a yellow exclamation mark....double click on the device...go to the "driver" radio tab up top...click "reinstall driver" in the next window tick off the title "install from a list or specific location"..in the next window..tick off "don't search, I will choose the driver to install"..in the next window click on the browse button and browse to the folder you created on your desktop..double click it and say ok..
If all fails you could buy a 20 dollar usb 2.0 card reader. these devices are much faster at file transfers and you wont drain your cameras battery

Hope this help
