What is the OLK folder and is it ok to delete the files
inside? This is located in my Docs &
Settings/MaryChambers/Local/Temporary Internet folder.
You can't see the OLK folder from the explorer bar, but
when I receive an attachment in Outlook mail and prompt
to 'Save', the browser opens to this folder (which I've
verified as being in the location above. The properties
of the Temporary Internet folder show that 92MB of memory
are being used, but I can't see all of the files when I
try to open it using the browser.

Help, please!

The OLK folder was designed to be a secure folder - it's not easily
viewable, as you have discovered. It's the default folder Outlook uses to
save open attachments in. It's safe to delete files in there, but I wouldn't
worry about it too much, as they probably aren't doing any harm, other than
taking up disk space.

This folder is only used if you have an attachment open, then try to save
the attachment from the open file. Before Outlook can open an attachment, it
needs to make a copy of it on your hard disk - which is what the OLK folder
is used for.

There is a way to change to folder that Outlook defaults to when saving open
attachments (so you could, for instance, have it default instead to your
local My Documents), but it involves editing the registry. If you feel
comfortable doing this, and would like to know the method, post back, and
I'll write it out.

Hi

I need to access a file that has been saved in OLKE6. How do I access the file to attach it to an email.

Thanks
