My Oleaut32.dll file got corrupted. I downloaded a file from the microsoft site that brought my desktop back but now I get messages window popping up saying "ordinate 77 missing from the dynamic link library oleaut32.dll. Clicking on ok removes the message until the window pops up again. How do I fix this or at least find out where ordinate 77 or ordinate 212 resides so I can eliminate this anoying little quirk??

s/ordinate/ordinal

It means that you have the wrong version of OLEAUT32.dll

Try running 'sfc /scannow' which should install the correct version,
although I'm surprised that WFP hasn't done it automatically.

Hi Steve,

Go to Star > Run and type 'sfc /scannow' (without the quotations marks
and note the space between the c and the forward slash)

This will check Windows files and replace the damaged or missing ones,
it will ask you for the Windows XP CD. It would also be advisable to
know the paths to the dllcache and Driver cache\i386 folders.

Good luck, hope this helps
