OLE ?

Hello,

I am using Visual CE which is installed on my handheld over the Pocket PC
Shell.

I am trying to synchronize a scribble from a Picture field in VCE to an OLE
object type field in Access. It always worked for 3 years. And today the
scribble I draw on Hand held does not appear in the OLE field of my Access
table !

Usually if a scribble is available, the Access table field would indicate
this by an "X", However now, nothing shows even though there should be a
scribble there.

Furthe more whan I click on the OLE field in My Access table I get the
following message:

To register the OLE server, re-install it.

Anyone can give me a clue atleats of what I have to do.

All appreciated

Ross

Robby you are probably better off asking this question in a Visual CE
newsgroup.

When this error happens over in plain Windows/Access land, it usually means
the user has installed a recent application that has taken over the file
registration for the Image type in question. Your older application that was
registered for the particular file type was able to function as an OLE
Server to insert/view/edit the inserted object. The newer app you installed
does not have the ability to serve as an OLE Image server app.

Hi again Mr. Lebans,

I am sorry, I am not as computer knowledgable as you are at this subject,
which leaves me pretty helpless in my problem.

Although, I would like you to confirm me one thing!

If I re-format my computer and re-install everything from scratch will I get
rid of this problem?

Robby!

Hi Robby,
nothing to be sorry for as I know absolutely nothing about Windows CE.

As I stated in my initial reply to you, a post in one of the WIndows CE NG's
would be the best course of action at this point. Why go to the trouble of
reinstalling everything if you don't have to.
