OLE Server problem

I have a form with several subforms, all of which have been working just
fine, until just now. When I attempt to enter information into a subform
(which I have done dozens of times), I get a message saying "A problem
occurred when (project name) was communicating with the OLE Server or ActiveX
Control. Close the OLE Server and resart it outside of (project name). Then
try the original operation again in (project name)."

Why is this happening, and what do I do? (I'm a "newbie").

That error could mean the database is corrupt or your installation of Access
needs repair. I'd start by compacting the database. Click on Tools>Database
Utilities>Compact.
