Hi, to all who read this...

I've had windows 2000 installed for about 1 year now (took a lot work to
part with 98). I've recently decided to go back and play some of my older
favourites - but they keep crashing when loading...
This is the error they all appear to bring up:

is there any way to download an update to fix this? (This machine also has
all of college assignments on it, so it's not connected to the internet in
any way at all - making it impossible to windows update)

Thanks in advance for any help people can give...

From the "Run" box
regsvr32 %windir%\AppPatch\slayerui.dll
to enable application compatibility mode.

Did the step below - a popu came up saying that something or other had
succeeded, ran the game, same error - I didn't see anything about application
compatibility though...

What's annoying is that this game has worked on 2000 before (when I first
installed it), and that it's not the only game doing this...

But thanks for trying to help though...

This article may help or you may need to get in touch with the application
developer.
