I decide to look at all the old 5.25" Floppy Disks I had. One contained a
file that appears to be a word file from word 2.0? I don't remember exactly
what was around at that time. Is there any way to figure what type of file it
is and then how to read it?

Never ever read from, write to or print from floppy with Word. This is the
most certain method of ensuring document corruption. Copy to the hard disc
and work on the document from there. This is equally relevant to other
removable media such as CDRW.

If the document is Word 2.0 then you will need the Word for DOS filter which
is linked from the downloads page of my web site.
