old PC-cillin won't uninstall; can't install new version

An old version of PC-cillin (2000) shows up in Add/Remove
programs, but it won't uninstall. (I get the message "AppHelp
dialog canceled...") I also see its folders and subfolders in
the Programs folder.

This is preventing me from installing PC-cillin 2003, which I
just bought today. (It says the old one must be uninstalled
first, but I can't uninstall it. I'm stuck in a loop.)

Has anyone else seen this problem?
