On my computer running W2K, I recently upgraded from Office 2000 to 2003.
Since that time I see the old Outlook 2000 icon on the bottom bar at the
right hand side. Perhaps because I unloaded the 2000 version of the .pst
backup into the new 2003 version.
If I now start Outlook 2003, my harddisk makes 3 short "crunching" noises
repeatedly for about 20 seconds. I have to wait until the crunching stops
before Outlook 2003 becomes active.
If I now attempt to make a backup I get an error message, before the 30 sec.
crunching stops: Error can not copy Outlook, Data error (CRC).
How do I prevent that the old icon of Outlook 2000 appears on my bottom bar
so that Outlook 2003 is no longer looking for non-existent files?
Or do I have a real CRC on my hard disk? And if so what can I do about it.
With thanks in advance,
