Old dos editor

We run an old dos editor called Multi Edit. (Programmers won't upgrade it).
On some machines, the keyboard response is extremely slow and erratic. The
only thing I see is ntvdm taking 100% cpu cycles. However, it also does this
on machines on which response is normal. DOS edit works fine.

Any ideas ??

If the Programmers won't upgrade to a modern DOS editor,
upgrade the Programmers.
