->[OL2007] Protecting some folders with a password? <-

Steve JORDI

Hi,
Is there a tool that allows locking certain folders of the mail
section in Outlook?

For example you have
Inbox
Personnal
Business
Trips
Misc

and I want "Personnal" to be not accessible to third parties and
have it ask me for a password before unlocking and revealing its
content.

Is this possible?

Sincerely,
Steve JORDI

No. You can password -protect the whole pst file or not at all.
What sort of environment is this in? Exchange? Stand-alone?
Are third parties supposed to have access to your mail? (Delegates etc?)

Yes I know this. Thanks.

Stand alone. Just don't want some people at work access my private
messages.
Connects through my POP3 server.

Then password your screen saver and lock the screen (Win-Key+L) every time
you leave the machine......does your company ALLOW you to access private
email at work?

Then don't let them use your PC and lock it when you step away from it.

Yes we have the right to access private emails.
But the right we don't have is to lock the PC.
It should be accessible to anyone. So I can log off though
but still the files are accessible to anyone that logs in
after me. Open it with Outlook and that's it, you see the
content.

Then the answer is to use webmail of some sort....
